About This Site

Long County has no active county jail building. The Long County Sheriff's Office handles county booking records and directs people to the surrounding jail that holds them, while this private reference site explains where official records, photographs, court results, and request paths can be found. No booking-photo gallery is hosted here.

Why This Reference Exists

Finding a Long County booking record can require more than one office. Georgia's public-records rules provide an access route, but the record creator and the photo custodian are not always the same. LCSO books and processes county arrestees, maintains the county inmate views, and handles Long County arrest records. People may then be housed in Tattnall, Wayne, Appling, McIntosh, Ware, or another named host facility. The old courthouse jail closed after an early-1980s fire and was never restored.

That split matters. LCSO's open-records information says the sheriff's office does not generate or maintain the booking photographs created by a host jail. The host detention facility is the proper photo custodian. The Georgia Department of Corrections handles records and photos for sentenced state prisoners, and the courts hold the disposition that follows a booking. When an online view is unavailable or incomplete, a focused records request fills the gap. The official LCSO open-records page and the jail and bonding explanation are the starting points.

What You Can Find Here

The information is arranged by record type and custody stage, with official sources placed first. The main county reference points to the originating offices rather than copying their records or presenting a face gallery.

  • The home page combines the Long County current-inmate view, the rolling 24-hour booking view, the arrest-date search, booking-record fields, and the records-request path.
  • Sheriff's Most Wanted explains the selected wanted list and the safer way to check a warrant through the sheriff's warrants process.
  • Mugshots in the News places local reporting after the official sources and explains how a story can be checked against the booking record and court disposition.
  • Ludowici Busted Mugshots covers the county seat's police contact and the route from a Ludowici arrest to LCSO booking and host-jail custody.
  • State, court, federal, and immigration routes include the GDC offender query, Georgia Courts e-access, the Bureau of Prisons locator, and the ICE locator. Commercial and news pages are identified as unofficial and may be incomplete or stale.
  • Georgia's open-records and mugshot-law information explains lawful records requests, correction or restriction routes, and the limits of public copies. It does not create a separate removal service or promise that a record will disappear.

What This Site Cannot Do

Long County Busted Mugshots is privately operated. It has no connection with the Long County Sheriff's Office, Ludowici Police Department, a host jail, the Georgia Department of Corrections, or any other government agency. The pages describe official paths, but they do not make an official record or decision.

  • It cannot release a person, confirm or change current custody, or transfer someone between facilities.
  • It cannot post bond, arrange a jail visit, deliver money, or act for a family member in a custody matter.
  • It cannot pull an official booking record or photograph from LCSO, Ludowici Police, a host jail, a court, GDC, BOP, or ICE.
  • It cannot decide whether a charge, warrant, photo, or court entry is accurate or final.
  • It cannot provide legal advice or replace a lawyer, clerk, sheriff's office, corrections office, or records custodian.

Only the originating government office can confirm a current status or release. A booking photo, charge, warrant, or wanted entry reports an accusation, and a court disposition is needed to learn how the case ended.
